“ After past glories of the double quintet "Specchio Ensemble", which - as a natural clearing - was followed by a long period of small projects, the idea persists and the opportunity to write for many different instruments. The period we are living certainly does not encourage groups to set up orchestral projects, anyway the music is louder than any surrounding reality. Camera Lirica is a container of old and new polyphonies, a concerted action of different instruments and timbres; thirteen colors within a single framework. An intimate, autobiographical memories that collects past and future thoughts.
Camera Lirica is supported by thirteen musicians very valid, in my opinion the most interesting italian improvisers of the last generation . Regarding the name, is nothing but a further affirmation of my personal fondness for the play of meanings, or (especially) a renewed attempt to put into music the meaning of the game: enjoy! ”.
Domenico Caliri
“ Over the years Domenico Caliri has distinguished himself with very characterised projects, representing a clear vision, a precise idea. He is not new to Angelica: Specchio Ensemble is a reflection of himself: unique in Italy, it is a collective of musicians housed in Bologna who made the history even though it has not been taken enough into consideration. This time the Specchio has been carried into the Camera in order to say what it has to express today: a variety of instruments and sound choice, an actual resource for the hard times of music and musicians. Camera Lirica is an idea of a place, an idea of music: Camera Caliri ”.
